As a Government agency, the GSS has the world as its clientele. It conducts national surveys and censuses and also serves on a number of boards namely:
- Ghana AIDS Commission
- National Development Planning Commission
- National Population Council
- National Tripartite Committee
GSS provides consultancy services in the area of:
- Data collection and capture
- Drawing of maps
- Methodology for projects
- Sampling designs
- Undertaking specific projects
