GNHR SOUTHERN TRAINING OF TRAINERS ENDS IN WINNEBA   The Southern training of trainers (ToT) for the Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR) Northern region listing exercise has ended in Winneba. The residential training which took place from Tuesday 7th July to Saturday 11 July 2020 involved the training of 69 trainers following the training of 70 trainers in the Northern ToT.   During the training, 14 facilitators taught trainers the use of computer assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) software for listing and the listing procedures, took trainees for a field practice and assessed the teaching and communication skills of trainers using mock presentations. The Government Statistician, the Deputy Government Statistician and the Chief Technical Advisor for the Census were all in attendance to lend their support to the exercise.     The data collection for GNHR is an important exercise commissioned by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGSCP) to enable them identify poor and vulnerable households. The registry will allow MoGSCP ensure that social protection interventions in the country effectively target the right households.     The GNHR has the additional purpose of allowing the Ghana Statistical Service to pre-test the listing tools and procedures that will be used for the 2020 Population and Housing Census.
